Speaking. Talking. Listening.

Pause. And repeat.

Some things become clearer when spoken out loud. For best results someone should be listening.

It’s worth dashing to catch a train sometimes, if only for that great feeling of just catching it.

With all the advice to plan – a good idea, to leave time to get to appointments, to avoid rushing, a dash to catch can be most rewarding.

It’s like running in the pouring rain to shelter under an ample porch, seeing if you can get into the movie theatre before the opening credits lick across the screen. Fun.

Balance. Enjoyment.

There is always room for better.

Improving the total end result of what you offer is the best goal to aim for.

Keeps things moving forward.

All other goals are subsidiary and can be led by this grand aim.

Ask the right questions in the wrong places.

Sometimes the normal and obvious sources come up dry when you have a question, need a lead or advice.

Try asking the most “unlikely” people – ask the barber about the programming hitch, ask the window cleaner how to solve the fission problem – they will give you a comment which floats the idea you didn’t know you were looking for. Or, something they say will be simply….perfect.

Give it a try next time.

A piece of bread can seem rather ordinary until you heap butter, jam or other condiments onto it.

Forget about that!

What if you cook something complex and extraordinary that just oozes flavour and healthy nutrition?

What if you eat this great composition on your own? Can you be satisfied with your good work?

Well, if you can’t, then save a bit and give it to someone else to try later.

But you know, you can tell if it’s good. And it only takes you.
