The minuets looked like they were about to topple.
They always had, but they were as stable and solid as the walls of the Grand Canyon.

Certainly, things had changed in the last three hundred and fifty years, but none of the buildings or their decorative elements had budged.

That’s more than we can say for Ackerman.

Frederick Ackerman, was a nomadic comedian and a deal-maker.

Whenever he appeared at a comedy club, the newspapers and TV stations would be trumpeting another property deal, usually one where half the city had changed ownership by the following morning. There had to be a connection between these two events.

The term “funny money” had existed for ages. “Funny property” had been tried by some headline writers…but it never caught on.
