As they crossed the road applause broke out and enthusiastic cheering, it continues to this day.

We have no idea why. People seemed happy, and bars gave free drinks to all comers.

Although it’s not easy to get a booking at a hotel in the centre of all the festivities, it’s so worthwhile and such a joy to be there, and after the free bar generosities you can’t drive, so walking or a bed nearby are best.

Such great advice is given freely with the wish that you feel every bit as good as we do, every year on this special day.

The Stream had a trickle of water, and the conversation flowed freely with the occasional exciting rapids of passionate enthusiasm, disagreement, or binding agreement.

Several layers looked like strata from mad geology.

Trying to fix the batteries was a failure, replacing them was a success.

Some things will become more permanent, last for years or even decades. There will always be a few items that just get replaced, or the whole caboodle is junk.

But I want to talk about rounded edges.

I would never replace a cabinet with rounded edges, or a bed frame with curved corners.

Sharp square knife-edged furniture is only acceptable if it is out of range, beyond reach, otherwise, those scraped legs, grazed fingers and other minor blemishes or quasi-injuries will continue. Unnecessarily!

We enjoyed living in our ultra modern home, but the time had come for something different.

We locked the doors, undid the tiny valve and let the air hiss out as the house flattened into an easily packed flat blob.

A new mutli level, 6 bedroom, 2 swimming pool and three kitchen cute town house awaited and was being inflated as we got into the car and drove out of the gates that had marked the last years of life’s moments and memories.

A new fluidity had arrrived, inflatable, deflatable and suitable for the impulsive.
