No brandy this afternoon.

This was unusual at the old club. It had been a tradition since the opening 233 years ago, that all members present drink brandy – not cognac – every Tuesday afternoon.

As a result of the overdoing of the day before, Wednesday’s always were so quiet. There were grumpy grumbles and sighs; not much conversation.

Now there’s a coffee shop next door.

We are giving away the country.

Of course if all the politicians leave first, then it ought be worth something. Maybe hang on to it.

The people? They’re the same motley assortment you get anywhere else. The good, the bad and the ugly.

Don’t be offended. It’s only a flag.

You gotta’ let go.

Of what? The rope.The habit. The ball. The fishing line. The lever…. and so it goes.

Vague. Often true. And then those times you should grasp, grip and hold.

Painting a beautiful work on canvas I never let go of the sable-hair paintbrush. That would have looked strange, even though I was working on an abstract masterpiece!

So long so far. Until tomorrow or sooner.

So there’s always a good time to start.

Sane, rational, also romantic and creative.

These things can go together. Ignore what our medieval schools teach and become a flourishing fountain of festive fortune!

When you can’t sea the ocean but can hear the waves crashing onto the shore.

Perhaps there’s something wrong with the camera?

Oh! We found the fault.

We were looking in the wrong direction.

Only a world of worldliness and cosmopolitan blend can save the imagination from dreary detail and rot.

Human beings are made for variety and the new.
