I think “membership” should confer treats, privilege, something preferential.

But $300 for a parking lot’s annual VIP card?

Not a carrot for me!

It’s not the money (!), it’s a sense of value.

Values – remember them!

Enjoying summer sun in winter.

All the labels on all the cans faced forward like well-disciplined soldiers on inspection.

Such is the way at supermarkets.

What if they had just one at the top with the front of the label facing outward and left the rest to be any which way and stacked Oh So Much More Quickly?

Would that appeal to customers as a sort of “just the facts” or “what really matters” policy?

Just can’t help thinking of the time it takes to rotate every single can, I remember, I did that job once…just for a day!

Waiting for something that should take a long time is quite easy.

It’s when things that are so easy or so automatic or should be, that’s the corrosive wait.

When you make up stories for kids, for adults, for space travelers, then the waiting seems fine and in fact vanishes into a satisfying smile.

So next wait, take the weight of waiting and wash it away with wisdom.

Or send me a round the world ticket, first class please, I’d rather a comfortable lounge to wait in!

It wasn’t the coffee.

That was good indeed, yet it was the twinkle of an eye and the finest decor in town that made the place famous.

At least to me!

Those working there seemed to treat it like a temple to human contact and the gathering of friends.

There can’t be much other purpose, not a higher one I suspect, to a café or restaurant.

After all anyone can cook or brew….at least after a fashion!

Only the place, this place, that place and those special places, are worth and worthy of our attention.

We had the talk.

Afterwards we went for a long walk. The trees swayed as if listening to what we had learned from each other.

We both felt stronger, bolder and most importantly, funnier.

No jokes were needed for us to laugh.

The jokes were all around us.

Living in this world.
