The local chief brought me two leaves and a fish.

Thank you, I told him.

His wife, she was continually smiling, offered to cook the fish for me.

I never found out what the leaves were for, or what they meant.

It’s a long way to travel back there now, to find the answer to this mystery.

A memory with optional meaning. The fish was really good.

Sitting.

A pencil and two tacos.

A tasteful script, a feeling of spurious spaces and soothing sensations.

Leave the orange, gather the pebbles and splash around in the water.

I trod upon small sandy mounds and swam forever.

A twisted cable and the necessary ingredients.

We want to keep charged, or rather to keep our electronic things fully charged.

We want to see you, hear you and read your letters.

The way you sway is almost as fine as our swivel.

Still excited when it’s quiet, when I’m quiet and when both are not.

The thrill can be balanced or out of whack.

Being terrified on a rollercoaster ride may be seen as different to the feeling you just strayed to the wrong street, in the wrong/somebody else’s, neighborhood.

When there’s a door you can return to, to close behind you, the relief can be palpable.

But that thrill of the new, the edge, the need to stay sizzlingly alert, just wonderful!
