A stairway to heaven it is not.

The assistant at the shop was merry, charming and curious.

We came out smiling and filled with a sense of world class lemon icing (on the cake).

Twisted branches in the local library entrance.

Years ago they thought this was decoration.

Now, it’s listed as of historic interest.

Really, there was just a shortage of funds – a bronze sculpture was out of the question.

Something told me I was right.

Nobody had considered the possibility that the happiest woman in that small street was the youngest, yet they were all 90 or more years of age.

It made little difference being 91, 93, 94 or 96, except to impatient life insurance companies and those pondering an end to gas and electric bills.

Yet they all seemed to have a sense of joy that ran through them like a river reaching out to find the end of dry land.

Strange. But no mystery any more.

New ground, a different way of looking and thus new things to see and discover.

There can be gold in them hills!

Corners of cabinets, all furniture, tables, objects – all should have rounded edges.

From now on sharp edged cabinets and doors, bed corners and cupboards are out…or rather, they’ll be rounded, curved, soft edged.

Why?

Because sharp corners are harmful and cause injury.

So many things to improve, so much design to influence and what wonderful results there will be!

Just one of many good things to come.
