As they crossed the road applause broke out and enthusiastic cheering, it continues to this day.

We have no idea why. People seemed happy, and bars gave free drinks to all comers.

The Day of the Rooster as it became known, and by others Fixation Day, it is happening again this year – next Thursday.

Although it’s not easy to get a booking at a hotel in the centre of all the festivities, it’s so worthwhile and such a joy to be there, and after the free bar generosities you can’t drive, so walking or a bed nearby are best.
